July Meeting: Picnic on the Common

At this meeting we took advantage of the long Summer evenings and warmer weather to get some fresh air while enjoying a picnic and a game of rounders.

We met on the south west corner of the common – walk up Elmbourne Road and turn right onto the common at Louisville Road. See the map below.

June Meeting: WI Campaigns

The WI is famous for its campaigns and promoting positive change on a wide range of issues since it started – from climate change to equal pay, from food waste reduction to the plight of the bee. The resolutions and mandates process means every campaign starts within the national membership.

In this meeting we learned about Organ Donation and the powerful ways it can save and impact lives. We heard touching stories from an organ recipient and from members with loved ones who became donors. Thanks to the NHS organ donation nurses Hayley and Clare for their insights.
