We have regular monthly meetings where we hear from speakers, have various activities, and find out what’s going on in the wider WI network.
There are also different clubs that catch up each month. We’ve got a wide range of members and interests, so we hope there’ll be something for almost everyone! You can also see our 2021 – 2022 events programme.
8 March 2023 – International Women’s Day
Next year, our March meeting falls on International Women’s Day, so the evening will be all about showing ourselves a little bit of self love and challenging some personal growth and development. We will also be reminding ourselves that each and every one of our members is an inspiring woman whilst also having a celebration (and party!) of all that is female.
8 February 2023 – Make your own jewellery
A piece of jewellery is much more special if you make it yourself. This month we will be getting creative with Fimo, which is a modelling clay. You can create highly individual effects, a variety of patterns or geometric shapes to make your own one of a kind jewellery piece.
11 January 2023 – Wellbeing start to the year!
We start the year with a dose of wellbeing. Expect experts in Chiropractic care, mindfulness and yoga. The perfect way to start the year.

14 December 2022 – Christmas crafts
Get into the holiday spirit with December’s Christmas crafts! Bring along some foliage to create a festive wreath for your door. Practice your icing skills for those delicious holiday baked goods, or make some unique clay ornaments for yourself or to gift!
9 November 2022 – Make-up tips, and our Annual General Meeting
Our Annual General Meeting will contain some house keeping elements, before dipping into makeup!
12 October 2022 – Cider and cheese tasting
We’ve previously mastered red, white and sparkling wine as well as gin, so now our favourite foodie Andy is back to tempt our taste buds with cider and cheese tasting.
14 September 2022 – Self defence
As per requests, we have organised a self defence workshop! We will be welcoming Sarah Brendlor who will be talking to us about personal safety, and doing some demonstrations. You’ll have the opportunity to practice some moves which can help to keep safe.
10 August 2022 – How are the bees?
We know that bees are an integral part of a balanced ecosystem and all the buzz in the news right now. So we are thrilled to be welcoming the expertise of Amanda, a beekeeper from Wimbledon Beekeepers Association to our August meeting. Amanda will be taking us on a journey into the hive, to introduce us to the world of the honey bee … What goes on inside the hive … What goes on outside the hive and how they make their honey.

13 July 2022 – Summer picnic social
As per tradition, we’ll be spending our July meeting soaking up the sunshine on Tooting Common. This is a great chance to mingle with other member and get to know each other through some fun activities. Bring along any picnic goodies and a blanket, details to follow closer to the date!
8 June 2022 – Platinum Jubilee indoor street party
To honour Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee we will celebrate in true British style with an indoor themed street party. Expect bunting, afternoon Tea with scones & clotted cream, cakes, strawberries and a glass of prosecco!
11 May 2022 – Make your own macrame plant holders
We are joined by Emily and two friends to teach us how to make our own hanging plant holders. Please bring any spare plants you have for a plant swap. There is an additional charge of £7.50 for this meeting.
13 April 2022 – Local Tooting writer and feminist activist Esuantsiwa Jane Goldsmith
We’ll be hearing from local Tooting writer and feminist activist, Esuantsiwa Jane Goldsmith. Esuantsiwa is a writer, feminist activist and development consultant of English – Ghanaian heritage. She will be talking about her life and experience of growing up in South London in the 1950’s, as well as her memoir, The Space Between Black and White.
