Its back to school time and the summer sun may be running out but at Tooting WI we always try to keep a bit of the fun going into the Autumn. Our September meeting combined a variety of activities:
- Learning about the Committee: in November we will be establishing our 2019 committee and are welcoming additional members to join the reoccurring faces. Two committee members warmly shared their personal experiences of friendship and shaping the life of Tooting WI for its members. There are a range of roles and we can tailor roles to interests, skills and availability. Please contact us for more info!
- Dessert sampling: Tooting is well on the map for its range of restaurants and culinary delights and we enjoyed sampling some sweet treats from a range of fooderies – from Idli to Lamingtons to egg-free cake. Thanks Jaffna House, Dee Light, Delta, Poojas and Too Good to Go.
- A beetle drive: this light hearted party game simply needs a little luck and a willing spirit. Throughout our five rounds we mixed up the tables and members got to meet more members while trying to score what points they could in hopes of getting a prize. Well done Kim on the highest overall score!
- Pom-pom making: our WI has members with a range of different skills and levels of craftiness. The good thing about pom-poms is that you don’t need to be avid crafter, though this committee member still needed a hand! Keep an eye out for us at Tootopia to see how pom-poms will feature.
Check out our Tooting WI Tootopia takeover area at the Graveney & Meadow on Saturday 22nd of September, 2018 from 11.30pm to 4 pm – we’ll have craft activities for adults & kids, a glitter station, bake stall, a raffle and a learn about the WI stands.
